Gelatissimo has hit the ground running in 2022, officially opening its first store in the USA last month, in Houston, Texas.
Despite the chilly temperatures, VIPS, entertainers and news anchors all rubbed shoulders with eager customers, each one excited to try Gelatissimo for the first time.
Throughout the day, nearly 1,000 free scoops were handed out, including samples of the store’s limited edition ‘Taste of Houston’ flavours; Bourbon Caramel & Pecan and Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake.
“We are so thrilled to have officially opened our first US store,” says Gelatissimo CEO, Filipe Barbosa. “Now the next chapter begins as we look to further opportunities for growth throughout America and globally.”
Keeping up the pace, the brand’s first store in Hawaii is also set to launch in the coming months, with the Honolulu-based site ready to be a hit with locals and tourists alike.
“We have spent a long time considering Hawaii,” says Mr Barbosa. “We wanted to get the position and store concept just right for our first venture into such an iconic holiday locale.”
Positioned on famed Kalakaua Ave, the store will be located just outside of Tiffany & Co.
Closer to home, a raft of new stores are also set to open in Australia this year including three in Queensland in Airlie Beach, Ipswich and Carindale, and a fourth in Cockle Bay, in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.
Additionally, the brand’s flagship Watson’s Bay address will undergo a significant revamp to showcase Gelatissimo’s soon-to-be-released new-look branding and fresh new interior design.
The new concept is planned for release mid-year, in recognition of Gelatissimo’s 20th Anniversary. With more details to come on the celebration and all the planned store openings, it ensures a very busy 12 months for the company.
“We have spent the last two decades enjoying sustainable growth and increasing brand awareness nationally and feel the time is now right to really ramp up our international presence and continue our Australian expansion,” says Mr Barbosa.
